Collection: Lunettes de soleil Celine
Céline Vipiana was only in her twenties when she named her eponymous brand. It was 1945, just after the end of World War II.
The business started with a custom-made children's shoe service and quickly expanded to boutiques in Paris. Soon, prestigious clients convinced her to create haute couture shoes for their children, and encouraged by this success, she expanded the service to women. In the 1960s, she introduced the first line of leather goods and accessories, followed by the "Sportswear" collection in 1968. This period marked Céline's embodiment of Parisian chic, with a focus on craftsmanship and high-quality materials.
The brand's identity has evolved, especially with the revival of Céline Homme, a key part of the holistic vision created by Hedi Slimane.
Today, this same spirit is carried forward by Artistic Director Hedi Slimane through the workshops at 16 Rue Vivienne. Alongside ready-to-wear and accessories, his haute couture pieces highlight the meticulous possibilities of French craftsmanship within the Céline wardrobe. To celebrate this legacy, the "Triomphe" monogram, a symbol of the house since 1971, makes a comeback.
